Isaac Spencer supplied the Aggies with a runner-up performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Texas A&M qualified 13 athletes in five events for finals in the SEC Championships during Saturday's session at the Kentucky Track & Field Complex.

Texas A&M totaled 21 points over four events at the SEC Championships on Friday with 13 scored by the men's team and eight by the women. In addition, qualifying for finals produced 11 Aggies advancing in five of six prelim events contested.

A cold day greeted the multi-event athletes competing in the SEC Championships on the blue track at the University of Kentucky Track and Field Complex. Alison Ondrusek placed ninth in the hammer in the only final held on the first day of the meet.

Entering the postseason portion of the outdoor track and field season, the Texas A&M women's squad enters the SEC Championships as the defending team champion while the Aggie men seek to improve upon a third-place finish from last season.

Texas A&M men won the LSU Invitational while the Aggie women finished second Saturday at Bernie Moore Stadium as the squad totaled 10 victories on the day in their final meet prior to the SEC Championships in mid-May.

Texas A&M, with the men ranked No. 2 nationally and the women No. 3, makes a return trip to Bernie Moore Stadium on the LSU campus as they compete in a scored meet with four other schools at the LSU Invitational on Saturday.
