Athing Mu Women's Winner - The Bowerman Award 2021

Olympic 800-meter gold medalist Athing Mu, a former standout at Texas A&M, was selected as the women's recipient of the Bowerman Award in Orlando, Fla. Mu captured NCAA Division 1 titles in the outdoor 400 meters and 4x400 relay, along with the indoor 4x400, as well as setting collegiate records in six events, three in each season. She joined 2011 winner Jessica Beard in representing Texas A&M, and joined Laura Roesler of Oregon (2014) and Raevyn Rogers of Oregon (2017) in being an 800 champion who earned the award, in addition to following Courtney Okolo of Texas (2016) and Beard as a 400 athlete to be recognized as the top female competitor in collegiate track and field.
